Poor Communication During A Sale ... How To Handle It.

I sold a pistol to a friend's relative who lives 1000 miles away.

Communication was steady up until the dealer received the pistol on his end. The last I heard, his dealer had signed for the package and hadn't called the buyer. It had been 3 days since the dealer received it!

The buyer called me wanting to know where his package was, and it was sitting at the dealers the entire time! Now, I can't get anyone to return my call on the buyer's end. Neither he nor the dealer will return my calls.

Should I just assume that everything is ok, and forget about it? It just raised a red flag for me when the dealer had the package for 3 days and didn't call the buyer. Which caused the buyer to blame ME instead of the dealer up to that point!

If the buyer hasn't contacted you, I'd assume all is well. You could send an email (assuming you have it) and ask them to have the courtesy to let you know everything is good.

Yes, I received the money prior to shipping.

I'm going to sit back and assume everything is ok. If it wasn't I'm sure I would have heard about it by now.

Tell the friend that you got the money and shipped, and that the FFL got it...thanks for the connection. Then enjoy the cash.

I am assuming that since you know for sure that the FFL received the gun that you also have some sort of proof of that fact such as a signed delivery receipt. If that's the case, I don't see much reason for you to worry about it any more as you have proof that you've upheld your end of the bargain (received the money and shipped the gun to the specified FFL). Any issues at this point are between the buyer and FFL.
