polymer kahr 9

See alot about keltecs here but little on the Kahr. It looks like quite a gun and gets great write ups, even passed the test as an NYPD off duty (steel version only I think)...so what's the scoop? Is this a true wonder nine and is it as pleasant to shoot for an 18 ounce gun as they say or are all the rag writers on the take?

I rented one at the range a few months ago and was thoroughly impressed by it. I have a Glock 17 and a 26, but I shot better with the Kahr than I did with either one of them. It fit well in my hand, was incredibly accurate, the recoil was extremely mild, and the trigger, although different from the Glocks, was very smooth and managable. My only complaint is that the slide release is to large and the edges of it are to sharp. Most of the gun writers have made this same observation, and supposedly Kahr is redesigning the slide release because of this. The one I shot was a used one priced at $400, and I drooled over it every time I went to the range. I tried to scrape togather some money for it, but it was sold before I could come up with the cash. It is definitely on my "Must Have" list of guns.

I picked up my Kahr P9 a month ago and it has been flawless through 300 rds so far. I'm impressed on how such a small pistol can fit my hand so well, be so thin and compact, yet be so pleasant to shoot +p ammo. The Elite trigger that comes standard on Kahr's P series is nice and smooth and breaks cleanly. That no doubt enhances the accuracy of this little powerhouse and showed in my targets. Mine came with trijicon night sights that are regulated to my point of aim out to 15yds which is farther than I care to shoot such a short sight radiused pistol.

Kahr did their homework when they designed the K series pistols and it seems to have carried over to their polymer line. I give it a two thumbs up if your looking for a deep cover concealment pistol. I plan to carry it as backup in an Alessi ankle carry rig.

I've owned my Kahr P9 for about a month and have put 500 rounds of PMC 115gr FMJ thru it with zero malfunctions. The only dislike is that Kahr doesn't offer a flushplate magazine which would enchance its carry-ability. Other than that, I love it! Love the grip, trigger, and accuracy. The Micro P series will be HOT and will buy one as soon as they hit the market!

I've had one for about a year. Great gun! Once I got used to the trigger I can get better groups with it than my Glock 34. You may want to try a search on it since there have been quite a few posts where it's mentioned. Overall the response from owners is all positive.

I have a Kahr P9 with night sights and love it. It is light, accurate and has a great trigger.

When I originally puchased the Kahr P9 it had feeding problems in which the slide would prematurely lock back when there rounds still in the mag. I sent the P9 back to the factory to get fixed (It had an old style slide release.). After three weeks, I received the P9. It has worked flawslessly ever since.
