Concerning another thread in General related to restraining orders and protective orders, I went online to look at the Nevada laws about them. Politicians here in Nevada seem to want to avoid arbitrarily stripping a person of his/her Rights, like firearm possession, based on a "her word against his" line of thinking.
I found this in their "prefiled" bills list:
http://www.leg.state.nv.us/71st/bills/SB/SB18.html
Basically, it says that if a person falsely obtains a restraining or protection order against another person, and the "adverse" party can prove it, the APPLICANT is subject to all kinds of sanctions, such as paying for ALL court and lawyers fees, filing fees, etc.
Hopefully, this will keep people from getting those damn orders just to "get back" at someone!
