I was browsing j&g and came across this and the thing that hit me was the price. 400 seems like an awesome deal and I cannot see spending an extra 450 on an arsenal as a good idea. I know people have had their issues with CIA. my wasr10 has been awesome.

All of the complaints I've seen people write on the tantal with keyholing and other issues were all from around 08. I've heard that they have since fixed this. What has your experience been with this and your advice? Also, I've read that those who did get a flawed rifle, jg has been good with taking it back and paying shipping etc

AK74s are going up in price bigtime right now. For $400 you can pick up that rifle, sell the folder for $50, then get whatever stock you want and have something pretty close to an AK74. No doubt that Century has had some issues with their builds but they will fix it for you if it's jacked up so I wouldn't worry too much about it.
 
You cannot change that stock because the hinge for the folder is part of the rear trunnion as I recall.

Be VERY cautious about guns assembled by Century. I would not have thought anyone could screw up an AK, but I was wrong. Century makes them that often don't work right, have sights that lean so much they can't be zeroed, have magazines that are either loose or so tight they bind, and I have had one come to my shop that had the bolt rotate in the rails so much it would jam every 2nd or 3rd shot. I had to spot weld shims onto the rails to fix it.
So at $400 that’s a very good deal IF and only IF they will take it back if it doesn’t work right. My experience with J&G has always been very good, but my experience with Century is horrid.
 
Absolutely IMHo.

I absolutely love the Polish, I just don't like at all the stocks, that's a big no no to me, I hate folding stocks to begin with and the wire and metal and et al stocks of these really just steam me up.

I believe if I got the pic correct, that is a pic of Centerfire systems's Polish AK-47 7.62x39mm , I absolutely love it. They get $699.99 for it, on sale for $599.99 - ... now that is expensive for an AK , really the only thin g more is an Arsenal SGL or a Vepr, but those are about the only two AK's I would take OVER this Polish one.


The Polish needs some furniture but it is an amazing gun. Now ESPECIALLY the 5.45... coorosive surplus 5.45 is so insanely cheap it's almost worth it to just buy you an AK-74, buy several thousand rounds and just bury the damn thing in case of SHTF.
 
Well, I made the plunge. Out the door for $602
Got one extra mag and 750 rds of silver bear. Ill put pictures up and give a report when I get to check it out!
