I bought a lightly-used 1970s Wingmaster a couple of years ago at a very good price. I'm not a bird hunter...so I had the barrel cut to 18 1/2" and sent the gun to:
http://www.aiptactical.com/, who rebuilt it to Remington Police standards+ with upgraded springs, bolt, plus a beautiful, true parkerized refinish.
The difference in this gun and a stock Wingmaster (and remember that the Wingmaster, then at least, was Remington's "Cadillac") is
absolutely amazing! It's a positive as a bank vault throughout the entire action. Zero slop, zero looseness, yet super-smooth. Everyone who has tried the gun goes wide-eyed at the feel of it. Plus the vent-rib is a useful feature.
I've had every kind of pump SD shotgun imaginable: Mossbergs, Winchesters, Ithacas. Remingtons, Benellis, etc. This one is the best of the lot, IMO. Granted, I spent about $350-400 over and above the cost of the gun. But, as the saying goes, you get what you pay for.
You may not want to go this route, but if you do, I highly recommend Aiptactical. The owner, J.D. McGuire, has been a Remington LE armorer for for a very long time and is an absolute professional to deal with.
