Poland's P-83 Pistol

I recently picked up a surplus Polish P-83 pistol...typical Eastern Bloc 9x18mm chambered DA/SA semi-auto. I never really cozied up to its predecessor, the P-64. But this P-83 is a fantastic shooter. For $200 you can't buy more fun than this.

Hmm. Not familiar with that one.

How's the DA trigger? Interwebz hearsay says the P-64 trigger is pretty stiff.

Those are tempting to me, but I already have a CZ82 and a P64.
Heard a lot of good things about them, though.

Recently got one myself. Just had it to the range yesterday. Shoots nice. Double action is pretty light compared to some others. Very similar feel overall to my P01. Very nice for the money.

I think the trigger is very good. The SA trigger pull is 4.5LBs, and it is nice and crisp...no creep, take-up or overtravel. The DA pull is 14 pounds, and it is smooth...no stacking.

While I'm wanting to pick up another 9X18 chambered Pistol. Its gonna be very hard to sway my loyalty to the CZ82. That pistol is nothing short of awesome. I believe it is the king of the Makarov chambered handguns. But nevertheless I'm going to pick up a P64 and maybe even one of these here P83's.

Tempting! Especially if the DA pull is significantly better than the >20-lb. pull on the P-64 I shot.
