Pocketful of Hurt

This thread is about pocket pistols or any other gun you pocket carry.

I am curious to see what all types of guns people pocket carry. A forum member told be he just got a .45/.410 derringer (IMHO "ouch") as fun toy.

Another buddy of mine has started to pocket carry his 4" XD9 because he likes it so much instead of the snubbie he had carried for years. I couldn't imagine ever even trying to pocket carry mine. However, he is a VERY big dude and it's about the equivalent of most average size guys with a Kahr pistol.

Personally, I will slip a LCP or 442 into my pocket. Anything larger and it goes in a belt holster of some type.

What about you guys? What do (or have) you pocket carried?

last week I saw a sherrif's deputy wearing a Bond Derringer in a cross-draw shoulder holster.

I would never have thought a law enforcement officer would have purchased one of those things...

I have no idea what caliber it was.

I pocket carry a S&W M36, before that my pocket gun was a Colt Cobra. A Colt D-Frame is about the biggest gun I can pocket carry practically and a S&W J-Frame is even easier (it's size rather than weight that is the biggest issue for me). My dad, after trying both a Taurus TCP and Walther PPK/S, has finally settled on a Ruger LCR .357 for his pocket gun.

Lately I've been carrying my Taurus 25-PLY,,,

Lately I've been carrying my Taurus 25-PLY,,,
It's small, lightweight, and has proven to be reliable,,,
Over 300 rounds at the range now and not one failure of any kind.

I use the 22-PLY for inexpensive range practice,,,
It's just as reliable as the 25-PLY as long as I use Mini-Mags,,,
The only problem I've experienced with the 22-PLY is fail to fire with bulk ammo,,,
It is a DAO action so I simply pull the trigger again and the cartridge has always fired on the 2nd try.

At bad breath distance of 7 & 10 yards,,,
I can now keep all rounds in a fist sized group.

Small and precise works for me every time.

I had a XD 40 SC which is the sub compact model and with the smaller magazine it would fit into a pocket. The thing was too heavy for pocket carry in my opinion, but you could pull it off if you were committed.

Used to have a Bond in .410/45 Colt, but traded it a while back. fun toy but the weight kinda negates what a derringer is for( just my opinion). I carry a 1911 in a shoulder rig, and as a bug, either a stainless interarms PPK or most of the time a 642 in superfly holster.

Sig 232--That's about the biggest I can pocket carry.
I have a pocket holster for the Glock 27, but that gun is just too bulky to make a decent pocket carry piece.

I think that is the prettiest pocket carry gun i have seen

no kidding, almost be a shame to even dirty it up...almost:D

P-3AT for me, but no longer in the pocket, bounced around to much and printed pretty badly as I tend towards the more form fitting jeans. So picked up a Galco Stow n go IWB that is working wonderfully.

Also tried a Bersa 45UC for pocket, it actually works pretty well using an IWB holster to keep the grip accessible, I just don't have that many shirts long enough to keep it covered, and I really do look like I'm swimming in them and/or had gastric bypass but didn't update my wardrobe:eek:

Getting a gun dirty just means you can clean it to make it pretty again, its half the fun :D

EDIT: Stressfire you get the vote for best sig i have seen haha

Thanks, but it's not really MINE anymore LOL. Got it mainly for a BBQ gun, but my little sister fell in love with it and asked me to give it to her in my will. I was afraid she might croak me in my sleep so I gave it to her for Christmas one year.:D

Replaced it with another 642 without the 'bling'. Gotta keep the Lil' sister well armed...and now she don't havta wait till I croak to enjoy it LOL.

I knew a DPD cop that pocketed a glock 22 off duty. Granted he was 6'6" 350# and built like a brick*house and wore baggy hip hop style jeans. Never saw it till I saw him draw 1 day

If I have my old Wranglers on, . . . (have several pairs, . . . old, . . . faded, . . . frayed, . . . COMFORTABLE ), . . . I have been known to pocket carry my Bersa Thunder .380.

But not too often, . . . and not for too long. One of those special moments, . . . mostly when I'm going to the bank and the post office. Carry is OK at the bank, . . . not the post office, . . . BT can go in the console while I'm in the PO, . . . sort of convenient.

Most of the time though, . . . 1911 of some flavor, . . . and, . . . uhhh, . . . no pocket carry there. I'm big, . . . but not THAT big.

May God bless,
Dwight

M&P 40 compact

I carry my S&W M&P 40 compact everywhere with me, I bought a small 38 and tried it but I dont feel as comfortable unless I have those extra 5 rounds. I started with the 40 and got used to it and I cannot get used to being without those extra rounds. Guess its just in my head, but I like it just slides right in my pocket and you cant even see it.

I also got an x grip extension and full size clip, to carry it when concealed isn't necessary, great guns those m&p's

I pocket carry my Ruger SP101. Great gun, packs a punch and it is not too heavy for the pocket even though many feel it is. Not for me, it works fine. I prefer it over the LCR since its weight keeps down the recoil.
