Just came across a chance to buy a case of PMC .40 ammunition for a low price. Each box of 50 works out to about $7.10 a box. Brass and boxer primed, 165gr. I've never shoot PMC before. Anybody know why I shouldn't grab this while I can? Thanks in advance. dgang

I did not like 165gr. PMC .40S&W. It was pretty dirty and packed a good punch. Having said that, $7.10 is a great price. I would shoot a couple boxes to see how comfortable you are with it. I found it to be very reliable and would probably buy it in 180gr. if possible. I really like Black Hills and I find Federal American Eagle and Winchester tolerable. BTW, where did you find the PMC so cheap??

Curuzer, I'm getting the ammo from a supplier to our local gun club. He just got tired of stocking everything in his basement. (I think his wife had something to do with his decision) He doesn't want to break up the case so I have to by it all. I'm sorry to hear its dirty, but that's what Hoppe's made for. I would have to clean it anyway. But as long as it functions ok with no misfires, I think I'll go for it. Thanks for the heads-up. dgang

Quick reminder: .40 *&* should now be called .40 Liberty.

See Smith and Wesson Must Die, where L. Neil Smith says:

quote:
PUBLIC NOTICE: henceforward, I shall be calling the cartridge formerly known as ".40 S&W" by a new name -- ".40 Liberty" -- to disassociate one of the greatest implements of self-defense ever conceived from the cowardly corporation doing its best to eradicate the very concept of self-defense, and to remind everybody to boycott that corporation and interdict its sales to all government agencies.
