PLS READ: BATF shuts down Oregon gun store

Guys,

You need to read this account of how the BATF is implementing Clinton's version of "enforcing existing laws":
http://www.fairlyhonestdons.com/threebears/threebears.html .

I live in Oregon, I've been to Three Bears Guns, and the store always seemed well-kept and reputable. I've also spoken to inspector Tebbenkamp before and found her to be courteous and helpful. My best guess is that 2 things are at play here: (1) the BATF has been given orders from Clinton via Reno to crack down on licensed gun dealers, and (2) the bureacracy makes it impossible to appeal a bad judgement.

Read the letter, and draw your own conclusions. If you feel so inclined, write a letter.

More people need to hear about this b.s.

Thanks.

Without going into a long rant and preaching to the choir, I'll keep it short and to the point.
Looks like Klinton's Krowd of Kronies just got themselves a new load of straw to lay on the camel's back. Except the camel ain't gonna' hold much more, and these guys are piling it on heavy!

Yeah, I saw Clinton's little speach on C-SPAN Friday morning. He vaguely explained his plans, and said something to the effect of "... It is because Congress has decided not to do anything about our problems that I have decided to take these actions..."

The cowards of the ATF tried to do the same thing to Good Guy's Guns in Salem years ago. The thugs of the ATF know that they can bring bogus or trumped up charges against the dealers because the dealers don't have the money to fight them in court. As for Good Guy's the original owners could not sell firearms any longer and had to sell the business(It was the deal they had to make with the fascist ATF). It was EXTORTION, GOVERNMENT THUG AND COWARD STYLE!

Get on the horn with your congressman, and demand that they shut the ATF down,NOW like they have been promising.

Just as there is no such thing as too much fun,
there is no such thing as owning just one gun!!!

Off my meds (quit smoking), armed to the teeth, and loose on an unsuspecting society!!!

My letter to Sens. Smith and Wyden:

Although I am not a constituent, I am an American citizen and have read the pleading by Terry E. Dobernenz, Pres. Three Bears Guns, Inc. to you on his plight.

I would implore you to investigate his allegations and those of the BATF in search of the truth in this matter.

If Mr. Dobernenz is guilty of willful acts I would request you do everything possible to hang his sorry a--. If, on the other hand, he is simply a victim of BATF abuses, I would implore you to do your best to save a small businessman from ruin.

Thank you,

Jim Peel

Gun Control: The proposition that a woman found dead in an alley, raped and strangled with her own panty hose, is more acceptable than allowing that same woman to defend herself with a firearm.

Yeah sounds like the BATF might be doing a bit of shuffling on this one, but the owner also sounded like a ranting whiner, he admitted to not keeping perfect records, well in that type of buisness you had better keep spotless records, and if you dont have the time maybee he should have down sized earlier? there is no excuse at all for any "missing guns" even if they are on record and gee maybee a inventory every month should have been in place alot sooner
sory guys but I dont see his side completly on this one?

Having found that he cannot get many of his proposals through Congress, President Clinton
is now trying to rule by executive decree. This is merely one example of what ge is doing. If you don't like it, write your Congressman and your Senators!

It does sound like the guy could have done a better job - a bit embarrassing to have to have government workers point out your inventory losses, IMHO.

Nevertheless, it also appears pretty heavy-handed, and a fait accompli that they would shut the guy down. He sounds like he is unwilling or unable to hire an attorney - the simple solution sounded like appealing to District Court, and having an injunction against the BATF closure. But, I'm just guessing here.

Brett: oh yeah fight the power man, NOT, I have nothing to worry about whose records are in what condition, I have bought all my guns legally. The point to my post was if your in that type of buisness you had better keep a pretty tight controll of your operation and be willing to play by current rules like them or not!! Once I have my firearms I certainly aint gonna be prayin about records that who I bought it from kept, I sold em all at a gunshow and forget who the dealer was?

Don't get me wrong, I can't stand the BATF, but Three Bears Guns probably had it coming.

If their recordkeeping practices were anything like their customer service (I refer to the 82nd avenue location), they probably did not take it very seriously.

The LAST time I shopped there, I wanted a basic revolver for my wife, just a bedside table gun. They tried to get me into a Glock 17, then wanted me to check out the new (at that time) Hi-Point 9mm carbine. Needless to say, I did not feel like they were paying attention.

I hate to see a gun store go down but when
I lived there, I gave them a deposit for
a gun and had to wait and wait and bug them
for an item I now know would be easy to find.

Sigh - it was fun to go there though.

They do sound sloppy for such an exacting business.

Wonderful, lets just let the ATF shut down any gun dealer because of crappy customer service(they deserved it). None of us really know whether or not Three Bears had bad record keeping or not. One thing is for sure the Bureau of As*holes, Tyrants, and Fascists know good and damn well that dealers don't have the money to fight them in court. BTW, what is considered bad record keeping? How about a wrong digit from a serial number on a 4473?

------------------
"Gun Control Only Protects Those in Power"

Keep in mind folks that these "surprise inspections" allow the BATF unlimited access to the dealer's file of 4473 forms outlining everyone of his transactions, including the make, serial number, and caliber of the weapon, and the purchaser's name and address.

For those of you who believe that there isn't a formalized registration of our firearms through NICS, this is the icing on the cake. This gets the records of transactions prior to NICS. The end result is, all weapons which were purchased through your FFL get input into the federal registration database.

There are no dangerous weapons, there are only dangerous men.

IAJack: "I have bought all my guns legally." If you think that's a reply to my remark, you just don't get it! The owners of SKS sporters in Kalifornia bought them legally. The New Yorkers Dinkens disarmed bought THEIR guns legally. All those Assies who've lost their arsenals bought THEIR'S legally. The day may come when the fact that you bought your guns legally just means that there's a paper trail for the government to know you have them, and come to take them!

Just another little thing to think about: If any of you have ever bought a gun from any of the 1000's of dealers who have been forced out of business in the last 5-6 years, you and everything about that gun are now in the BATF record database. All of the 4473's from those dealers had to be surrendered when they went out of business.

If you're not a little upset with the way the world is going, you're not paying attention.
