please respond to this MMM survey...

If it makes any difference, I spoke with the woman who made this web page and it did a great deal to prove to me just what kind of people these are.

As a member of the Alamo PC Group here in San Antonio, I get a monthly news letter / magazine. In this month's issue (April) there was as article on web page building tips written by Susan Ives. It started out ok, but by the third paragraph the MMM was mentioned. At first I was a little disapointed by the refrence, but I figured it would be just a refrence for who she was building the page for. However, throughout the page and a half article, she mentioned the MMM at least nine times. Personally, I thought that she was knowingly doing this as a political statement and that she definately knew what she was doing here. The constant refrences contributed nothing to the article, but to help draw attention to the MMM. Reguardless, I figured I would bring this up with her at this months meeting.

When I finally got the chance to talk with her, it was made obvious very quickly that she did not want to talk about this, explaining that she didn't realize that she did anything wrong, and that I should take this up with the Editor. As I began to explain to him what I was upset about, he immediately told me that he didn't like guns either and that Susan (a contributing editor) did so much for this orginization that she could do no wrong. As he was explaining this to me, a few others got into the conversation and were also a little concerned with what was going on. At one point, it was brought up that Susan was more than aware of what she was doing and has always been very political with things, even preventing the magazine from using the phrase "Happy Easter" or printing a "bunny" on the cover becuase it wouldn't be fair to everyone.

Either way, I realize that this probably isn't too important to anyone as I can't imagine another Alamo PC member being here, but I thought it might help to show what kind of people we are dealing with here. Then again, maybe I'm just over reacting about this. Which ever the case, another example of the kind of things she gets away with, as well as an example of why I will be canceling my membership, you can see for yourself at: http://www.alamopc.org/features/rev368e.html Unfortunately, her April article is, for some strange reason, not on the site.

I hope this helps.

Done.
Current standings: No 2.44%
Yes 96.86%
Unsure 0.70%

I like the disclaimer at the bottom of the results. You can bet that wouldn't be there if the results were reversed.

Forgive another post on this subject.

msd, This is in response to your link. I went to check it out, too.
According to the article:

"In a field study conducted by National Institute on Media and the Family, less than 5% of parents had ever heard of the "Mature" game, Duke Nukem. However, more than 80% of 11-13 year-olds reported that they were familiar with the game."

HEY, ANTI'S. I rest my case! Get involved with your kids, you morons!

Sorry, friends; I couldn't help it.

Don't forget the "Join a Discussion" just above the "Take a Survey". They're getting hammered there also.

We do need more ladies input though - the guys have taken over.

Thanks fellas and ladies I appreciate it. Me and Miss Ives have been having a discussion about this via email for a couple days. She thinks it will run it's course and end. Lets show her that we don't quit. Please post the link on all the pages you can think of.

We have made headway, she has invited the NRA Eddie Eagle program to the march. I am planning on a taking a few friends(HAHAHA) down to meet them at the park after their little march. I'm trying to get her to set up booths stressing teaching safety above legislation.

We'll have to wait and see.

I tried, but it said the the servers cpu was full and to try back latter.

I wonder what the results would have been if I had been in favor?

Sorry Folks!

Would like to help in this, like some of you helped me in the German gun ban survey.....

But the System stated:This users cpu limit has been reached, please try again shortly.´

Ok, I'll try agin, later on.

Cu 'n greetings from Germany

Folks,

They are absolutly getting battered over there.

We are putting a healthy dose of reality into the anti crowd here in SA, like how outnumbered they are.

Any of you folks from this area I'd be very thankful if you could drop me a line via email. I have a few things I'd like to discuss with you in relation to showing a gun culture presence.

Dennis, I know your near and maybe you could attend a few meetings with me over the next few weeks.

brother in arms,

steve
