I am pleased to announce that I am participating in a fundraising opportunity through Crossfit Virtus in Gonzales, LA to support the Special Operations Warrior Foundation. It is a non-profit organization that supports the families of Special Forces troops that are killed or injured in combat. Regretfully two of the Seals who gave their lives yesterday in Afghanistan were registered for Fight Gone Bad and two were from Louisiana. Sportsgrants/Fight Gone Bad have been charged with funding all short term needs for the families and they've also pledged to fund the educational expenses for every every child of every operator and airmen who gave their lives via the Special Operations Warrior Foundation.

All donations must be made by 6 pm PDT on Friday, September 23, 2011.

This is basically the same type of fundraiser as those 5/10ks but it is a crossfit workout.

Crossfit gyms around the country compete in a competition called "Fight Gone Bad." The premise is to raise funds to support Special Operations Warrior Foundation and other chartiable organizations.

Okay, I tried to allow this one to sink on its own without having to close it.

Here's the deal. No disrespect intended to the Warrior Foundation. I am a retired AFSOC guy myself. But as honorable as this may be, we have a very strict rule about topics being firearms related. Directly related if possible.

Sorry, can't let this one go. We try our best to consider the value of a topic and above all we try to be fair.

There are plenty of worthy boards on the 'net that will allow exposure for this.

Nothing personal against you, spankaveli. And as much as I, personally, support this foundation, it is outside the mission parameters of TFL.
