Pleasantly surprised by a FOBUS Evolution holster.

I have a Ruger SR-22 pistol that is a favorite range toy,,,
I wanted an inexpensive holster for range use only.

Academy in my town has a good selection of the FOBUS paddle holsters,,,
So I asked their customer service about their return policy,,,
I was told to buy it, try it, and they would take it back.

Out the door it was only $28.28,,,
I took it home and popped the pistol in,,,
Then wore it around the house for the next 4 hours.

I have to admit I am very surprised by it,,,
I expected the paddle to be wildly uncomfortable,,,
But even when sitting down I forgot it was there after 15 minutes.

The Evolution series has the adjustable retention screw,,,
I loosened it until there is only a barely perceptible click when holstering it.

So I'm going to keep wearing it at the house for a few days,,,
But if it still turns out to be as comfy as yesterday,,,
I'll probably buy one for my LCP as well,,,
The paddle for that pistol is tiny.

Anyways, I just wanted to share this small testing experience.

I have two Fobus holsters for my S&W Sigma. One is the non adjustable retention (older model) and I just received the newer model with the adjusting screw. The first one has an adjustment for the cant of the pistol and I don't care for it because it is about 1/2-3/4" thicker than the newer model. I'm thinking of selling the older model. I like the concept and that they work as advertised.

Like I said before,,,
These aren't anything new,,,
But I do think I will get one for my LCP.

Aaround: My Son & I have been using FOBUS HOLSTERS for several years now. And have 4 or 5 of them. We have never had a problem with any of them. Both of my CCG`s are carried in Fobus Holsters. IMHO I think they are very comfortable to wear for long periods of time. Like out, just running around town, running arrands, shopping, driving a car, even on trips. I really for get sometimes I have one of them on. My Son and I both really like ours.

During long training classes (4+ days of hard use) ive seen a number of Fobus holsters break.

But, for that price its easy to just buy another one. For a range/plinking holster i think they are fine.

I personally would not use one for anything serious (CCW, Duty, etc).

Just my opinion.
