Playing with DIY rifle targets

After digging through all the freebies online, I made a few targets for myself. This one has a 1 MIL reference on the corner, which I thought might be nice for people who don't have a long tape to walk off their ranges. Just wanted to get opinions and recommendations. ( I suppose you could range off the fact that the paper is 11" tall.. but.. whatever. ;))

I want to make another for my 200 yard range. This one has 1" / 1 minute circles, whereas the 200 yard will have 2" circles. I suppose I'm willing to take requests if anyone's interested in such a thing; this one only took about 20 minutes to throw together.

FWIW, I've found that a darker area, surrounding a white MOA center, works best for my eyes.

Whether it's scope crosshairs, or the one MOA dot on my 1-4x tactical, it's easier the place that black center on a white background.

Anything is an improvement over a black center :D

tobnpr,
I tried the diamonds today at 100 yards, definitely an improvement. The contrast is very helpful with the white center and the diamond overall.

The first group was on the lower left diamond, and landed roughly 2" high; I was zeroed at 200 yards. The wind picked up, and I got flinchy.. so after I got the scope doped down, I finished with the top left group. As a grand finale, I took a shot at a quarter (and was very pleased!)

Lol.. my buddy Scotch tape was holding it down... (buddy died in the process). I won't be happy until I do that at 200. :)

Top left target looks good guy. I would say you have it..tell me,,did you shoot a hole in Government property:eek: Ha Ha,,Just kidding:D

did you shoot a hole in Government property?
..

I did, and almost didn't. But then I thought "Hey! I probably paid 28 cents for that quarter!" so I let er' rip. ;)

I attached the two diamonds that I've made up if anybody wants them. 1 M.O.A. centers.

I make my own targets also. I find most store bought targets too busy sometimes to find the hole especially the one that are made for sighting in.

I prefer shooting on a white background with a pink dot or sometimes I will take blue masking tape and make a + out of it that works very well for sighting in.
