Gun</A> Control: The theory that a woman found dead in an alley, raped and strangled with her panty hose, is somehow morally superior to a
woman explaining to police how her attacker got that fatal bullet wound.

Now, there's a unique reason to buy Playboy.

Somehow, I don't think announcing that you're buying it to keep abreast (Freudian slip) of a vital Constituitional issue is going to hold any water...

On the other paw, some months back I was depressed for days after finding myself reading an article before checking out the Sweet Young Things inside.

God, I'm getting old.

dang i have been waiting for them to do something along these lines since october last year.
i happen to be one of the lucky few (maybe the only one?) 15 year olds who's mother will let him subscribe to playboy.
will have to make sure my subscrip is paid up so i will be sure and get that issue.

See? Here's another good example of why I buy Playboy because of the articles ...

honest ...

really ... ;)

unless, of course, Diane Feinstein is the centerfold ... ;)

Jeff you know how you run outta paper at the range? ;)

They seem to be in with the hollywood crowd so hopefully it doesnt have an anti spin.

Never read one before maybe I'll buy the jan issue just this one time. :D

Best I can recall, the mag is now the responsibility of Hugh's daughter; Christy. Wonder how she feels about guns; if she's got a CCW? Might be (as claimed) a real Feminist and supportive of women who carry.Could start a whole different article.

A few years ago, PB did do a series of articles where they did research into gun control. The writer came to the conclusion that gun control was BAD and the final article was in support of private ownership of guns complete with quotes from the founding fathers.

My impression of Playboy's editorial & news reporting bunch is that, while they might tend toward being socialists as a result of their journalist backgrounds, ultimately they come around to being Constitutionalists due to their dependance on the First.

Which is a long way of saying, they tend to get to the Right Answer.

They've also been against the War on Some Drugs for quite a while, and fully recognize the Constitutional dangers of it.

I used to subscribe to Playboy for many years, but their ever increasing liberalism and feminism were driving me away. The last straw was when they did a nude pictorial of Sandra Bernhard.. NOT what I wanted to see on the pages of Playboy.. cancelled my subscrition and never bought another one. Mark / FL

Why not suggest that they ask experts about the utility of guns and give your two cents on the second. John Lott makes a great case for the utility of guns, especially with regards to women. The Emerson case is interesting, but might be politically offensive to the Hefner perspective. Perhaps somwone could point us to some URLs that make a historical arguement, without appearing overly right wing.

A friend of mine recently pointed out an article of interest in the July 1994 issue of Playboy, entitled, Guns II: I stand corrected.

If any of you can track down a copy of it, or a transcript, it's a good one. I don't really feel like copying it out here, I have it on a fax, so I can't forward it...
