i'm trying to find a place for some friends of mine to go on a terminal shoot (shoot up old computer equipment -- along with standard paper targets), but i'm having trouble finding places in southern california that allow shooting such unconventional targets.

i was hoping to do it on designated public/federal lands but use of assault weapons is not permitted on pub/fed lands were shooting is allowed. plus, most pub/fed lands are shotgun only anyway.

if anyone knows of any places that would fit my needs, please tell. thanks in advance.

Do you know where Frazier Park is?
It's a small town north of Saugus (Magic Mtn). They have a canyon that's designated as a "Shooting area." It's nothing official, just a sign that says "shooting area," I guess so the hikers know to stay the h*** out of that particular canyon! :D Being a small town, (pop. ~3,000), it's usually not crowded.
E-mail me if you're interested, I can give you directions. :) cindy.hayward@visto.com

(BTW, it might be kind of far, but it's a nice area, worth the trip to spend the afternnon up there)

Frazier Park is exactly one hundred miles from Anaheim on the I-5 . It is at the top of The Grapevine . You will see The Flying J truck stop on the left before you get to the exit .

I guess I should say, if you want specific directions to a good (safe) canyon to go shooting in, you can e-mail me, or you can call Bill's Gun Shop (if it's still there) or Bill's Video Store (same guy).
