Pistol optics

Does anyone have a preference for optics to be mounted on a pistol to be used outdoors for static steel competition?

I'm looking for something to mount on either a Ruger MK1 with a Volquartsen upper receiver or to be mounted on a Colt Gov't series 80 45 acp.

My red dot is far too slow to "find" in this type of speed shooting match.

We have a tube style dot scope mounted on a .22 for steel challenge matches.
The tube still provides a good aiming device if/when the dot or battery dies.
Plenty good enough for the large steel targets used.
The idea came from watching an open class USPSA competitor who scored first on an elaborate stage with a dead tube scope.
Couldn't even tell his scope had gone blank.

I like the Leupold deltapoint. Mainly because I like the predator pyramid of doom. The Triangle allows me to get more precise when I need to and stay fast when I don't. Secondly for the power management. Pick it up, it turn on. Tilted down and idle for a while, it turns off. Lastly for the large window. Its a little bigger than the RMR. I've been shooting one on a friends gun every so often. I really really need to get my own.
