I've been talking about this gap in the range of contemporary semiautos for a while, now here's a (crude) rendering:

- Baby Browning sized
- polymer frame
- striker or internal hammer
- DAO trigger
- .25 acp or, even better, .22lr

I say why not.
:D indeed

...and apart from that general statement I find it kind of interesting that although concealment and miniaturizing has been one of THE issues for the last decade, in case one might want too go towards maximum concealability, he has to rely on a pistol more than 80 years old with features like all-steel receiver, SAO and so forth.

Probably because gun companies are in the business to make money. It would be a "niche" pistol with limited sales appeal.

I very seriously doubt if enough of them would sell to recoup the design, development, and manufacturing cost.

They wouldn't be much smaller than something like a Kel-tec P32 or Ruger LCP380, and for concealed carry self defense purposes the majority consensus seems to be that .380 ACP is about as small as you want to go.

For general plinking, the small size and two finger grip is a disadvantage. A Buckmark, Ruger SR22 or Ruger Mk III is much more accurate and enjoyable to shoot.

I own several Bauer .25's (stainless Baby Browning copy), but I haven't carried one since the small Kel-tecs and Rugers came out. My grandkids like to take the little .25's and NAA .22's out and shoot them once every couple of years, but they're done as soon as the novelty wears off.

The Diamondback seems to fit the OP's needs....but has barely kept it's head above water sales wise. I can sure think of other pistols to put on the wish list.

Magnum Research should take a page from the Browning play book....offer a scaled down version of the Desert Eagle in .22LR.

Just what we need, another plastic pistol

Oh no no no TMD, they are made of POLYMER which is not really plastic, it was reverse engineered from alien spacecraft and is far FAR better than steel, or even regular plastic, which it isn't. It's not mere old crappy plastic.
Got it?
Of course in the plastics world the word "Polymer" is used for most (Forgive me for saying that ugly word) plastics. Most plastics are polymers.

I get a kick out of the way people try to say something isn't what it is just because they paid way too much for it. Now, if you can prove to me that a gun really was owned by an alien, I mean one from outer space (Without using drugs) I'll pay a lot for it. :)
