Pistol-grip full stocks and ext mag - Legality?

Can I install a SpeedFeed stock with the pistol grip/full stock on a 11-87 Police model and still be legal?

I know...I know...I've researched all the arguments against pistol grip/full stocks but I guess I have to learn the hard way.

I handled an 11-87 Police model at a show this weekend and am thinking of "building" one with Scattergun parts.

My dealer has a M1S90 but the pistol grip feels like it is canted too far forward to be real comfortable, especially in the wrist, so I am thinking 11-87 now.

The 1994 Assault Weapons act says that on a shotgun you cannot have more than two among the following three:

Semi-auto operation
Pistol-grip (AK looking stuff)
Extended mag capacity

You have to choose which two, and which one you want to give up...personally, I'd forget about the "tactical" pistol grip

Extended magazine capacity would be over ten rounds in a magazine. I don't think this applies to shotguns - have to have a long tube to exceed ten rounds.

Feel free to disagree..

Well, I stand corrected. The law URL is above, applicable parts, below:

"Semiautomatic assault weapon. (a) Any of the firearms, or copies or
duplicates of the firearms in any caliber, known as:"

(rifles/pistols stuff snipped)

(d) A semiautomatic shotgun that has at least 2 of--
(1) A folding or telescoping stock,
(2) A pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action
of the weapon,
(3) A fixed magazine capacity in excess of 5 rounds, and
(4) An ability to accept a detachable magazine.

Well I guess that answers my question...

But if I input a 870 instead of a 11-87, I am legal again.

I like how that law is basically viewing a 11-87/M1S90/etc as a MORE deadly weapon than an 870.....

Wait a sec. I've been thinking about getting a Saiga 12, but it is limited to 5 round mags. But if that is what the law says, as long as the gun doesn't have a pistol grip it could accept a higher capacity magazine. Detachable mag is the only evil feature. It doesn't say detachable mag that holds more than 5 rounds.

I hate that stupid law.

Nice thing about a Saiga is that you can fire five, slap five more, and so on...probably more efficient than a fixed mag tube of greater capacity
