Pistol Finishes

I'm planning on having a pistol refinished, but I'm not familiar with some of the finishes referenced in some of the posts here. Do you know of any sites that have pictures showing different finishes? I really appreciate it.

Robar Guns offers the Roguard and NP3 polymer finishes; but their site has an excellent rundown of the various types of finishes available today and the advantages offered by each.

I've used Robar (NP3) and Accurate Plating & Weaponry (hard-chrome and gunsmithing service).
Both are the very best.

Is Metalife good?

Metalife is very good. Have had the opportunity to see one of Chuck Taylor's Colt 1911's done in it. He maintains it is a fine enough chromium that it won't affect even a good trigger job. You can have it done either "bright" or flat. The only negative is it looks kinda "white" if left bright. http://www.metalifeind.com Soon to have a Sig 228 slide done with it.
