Pipsqueak Competition loads, what are they?

I have herd so much about the light loaded Competition .38 caliber rounds and I really wonder just how slow these loads are?
If you load these rounds, what powder charge is in them and what bullet weight? What velocity do they actually clock at?
I had a friend load some "Squib" .38 Special Derringer laods for my Little Cobra Derringer. He's a very experienced reloader howeverI don't know where he got the load data? He didn't tell me the powder load but he did say he'd used 90 Gr lead bullets. The bullet has a flat nose and is really short! I am guessing velocity at 450 fps and recoil from them is mild but even in my Vaquero you still get some...
They are suprisinglly accurate from the Vaquero!
I chose the .357 Vaquero because of the cost of ammo and since I buy handloads, I chose to get the revolver in this caliber.
I'd really like to know what these super light competition loads are? Not that I would use these sort of loads for anything but plinking with my Derringer.
I feel that you should follow the "Spirit of the Game" and use only full loaded Cowboy ammo for competition!

One of the beautys of SASS is "shoot what you want within our specs". Power factors are in place for light side and max velocity on the high side. Smoke requirements for the Darksiders.

The era of the extremely light loads is over because the fast shooters have discovered that they need some recoil feedback from the gun to go really fast.

The only people shooting the extremely lights are new shooters that believe threads on forums on the net. They seem to learn quickly.

GOOD!

With the exception of the loads my buddy built for thr little Derringer (and that's just for plinking), I use full power .38 loads. They are just more fun!
I think that you have to smak that steel with whatever you bring, not just lovepat it.
I load my BP revolvers meduim heavy and I like the BOOM and smoke! Plus they seem to shoot most accurate with a little speed on the balls.
I'm glad things are coming back around to where they should be!
