Pinto revolvers anyone?

I seem to remember an article in a gun magazine on a fellow who collected these unique guns. the S&W "Pinto" revolvers. I think Wiley clapp wrote it but I can't remember the magazine or issue it was in. anybody else remember this article or have any info on the Pinto guns?

I have an M38 with an alloy frame and a stainless cylinder. It is a former Michigan State Police revolver I bought from KY Imports.
I saw an ad for a K frame with the same arrangement, but I can't remember where.
Some people can't stand them, but I like mine.
I thought I saw them called Palominos rather than Pintos.

I have the article you talked about here someplace, but it might take me until December to find it.
