Pink pistol cleaning?

The usual cleaners are not removing the black gunpowder/handprint/etc residue
from my Wifey's pink synthetic Taurus pistol...

Should I go to a Mr Clean Magic Eraser??
Or is there a more simple resolution??

Detail strip it and use soap and water....

The magic eraser is abrasive it will take material off the frame.

Pink pistol cleaning

Use Peto Bismol. :)
Justabout any cleaer will attack most paints to some degree.
Use a bore guide and don't soake the patch so it wants to flow over the barrel if you are cleaning from the muzzle end.

I assume you are talking about a solid polymer part that is not coated, but made of colored polymer. if the black is in the pores of the plastic, you may have to use something slightly abrasive. I would try other methods first, especially hot soapy water and a decently firm, small bristled plastic brush(toothbrush maybe).

Just leave it. It'll look like one of those new pink/black camo jobs. ;)

Actually, I suspect soap and water will do as good a job as anything.

I'll start with soap & water & toothbrush tonite :)

Need to upload some Before pics...and hopefully some After ones later ;)

Thanks, guys!

Those yellow Lead Away cloths.
I believe these are also slightly abbrassive.

Ultrasonic cleaner is something you might want to look at.
We use them to clean stains out of acrylic where I work. Usually works pretty well. Not easy to find though. used ones online for under $100. One of those things where you will be surprised how much you can use it. Like an air compressor or bench grinder.

Soap & water did Nothing...lol

Strangely enough, tried a Clorox Wipe next, with some vigorous rubbing it worked :)
Just abrasive enough to do the job...and it helped brighten the pink up nicely!

Next time, try MPRO7 or Hoppes Elite. They are impressive at removing fouling and, as a bonus, are non-toxic and have a very mild odor.

Pink is a hassle to maintain. Many times I see pink bags and stuff and be wondering. When you gonna wash the thang! :o

If I remember correct from freshman chemistry clorox doesn't remove soils as much as it makes them clear.

I use a citrus version of Purple Power and it works miracles without damaging anything. Someone looked up the MSDS and told me that it's similar to denatured alcohol but all I know is that it works.

Cute lil thang, tho ;) Perfect for the Wifey!
Kind of sets off that whole "ERRR, KILL!" Marine Gunny tendancy...
