Pillar Bedding a Sako Rifle

Anybody ever done this???

I have an AII 22-250 and an AV Sako Finnbear 270 that both need an overhaul.

The Sako's have the front guard screw screwing into the bottom of the recoil lug - is this an issue, as I thought there was supposed to be no contact between the stock and the bottom of the recoil lug?

I have made the pillars out of a very hard, stiff engineering plastic that machines real easy.

Cheers

Bed tight to the bottom if the screws go into the recoil lug. Put a peace of electric tape on the front and sides of lug. For clearnce As for the pilers most use AL. The idea being to reduce the compresion of the wood when you tighten the screws. Make sure that there is no binding and that the action sets level and does not rock on the pilers. after the pilers set up, after glueing them in, glass bed in the normal way.
