I asked you guys to talk me out of buying the 1858 Remington, which you all failed to do miserably. By Tuesday next week (if the mail delivers it on time) I will be the proud owner of my own 1858 Remington, complete with powder, wads, balls, and caps.
I couldn't resist it anymore. Seeing all the talk in this forum didn't help. Five years ago when I started shooting, I thought that plastic tactical bricks were the ultimate mark of a real firearms enthusiast. But slowly I found myself purchasing metal framed pistols with wooden grips, rifles with wooden stocks, revolvers.....and it was only a matter of time before I would start craving black powder muzzle loaders. I wonder what's next for me, flintlocks?
The Firing Line has turned me from a plastic brick "tacticool" novice into a real hardcore firearms enthusiast.
