Been quite a while since I've been on here.. bought another turbobrick so I've been busy burning money elsewhere. But... I bought this python a couple weeks ago. I think its about a 1980. Picked it up from my local store... now its always "hows that python treating you (not the other million things we've bought there LOL)"

Oh I also just bought a new SW586-6 :D

Beautiful Colt!

If you don't mind my asking, how much did you give for it? We already have a 6" barrel Colt Python and LOVE it!!! I would very much like to have it in the 4" that you bought....

That's a beautiful Python! I've had 3 and sold them all :( Nothing shoots like a Colt Python. OK, so they're not exactly rugged; I compare them to expensive sports cars.
You've got a useful hunting piece for medium/small game. An unbeatable home defense weapon and the most fun-to-shoot range gun I've ever had the pleasure to own! Someday, I'll acquire another and I won't let it go.

Larry, I've got more than enough other "toy's" that the Colt is not on the list of guns I'd carry when hiking/hunting. It is quite a pleasure to shoot on the range though I think it is replacing the m19 or my HK for the nightstand gun for a while.
 
No, production is shut down for this year, while Colt catches up on military orders for the M4, and to install new production machinery.

Python and Anaconda production will resume next year.

Same gun, only with the word "Elite" added.

Colt started this when they made the Python a Custom Shop gun, instead of regular production.

Other than the word "Elite" and a new type of laminated wood grips, the Elite is the same as the non-Elite Python.
