Scene 1: The caption reads: "Congress passes ten round limit on magazines to reduce gun violence". Lettes fade to reviel a deranged looking lunatic with loading 10 rounds (the legal limit -- no pre-ban stuff here) into various magazines for a few different guns.
Scene 2: A car filled with a handful of gang members pulls up in front of a big house and the conversation goes something like this: "This is a big house. They must have a lot of cash laying around." The gang members exit the car and go around the back where they throw a lawn chair through a sliding glass door and then enter the house.
The wife turns to a half asleep husband and says that she hears something. The husband stumbles out of bed and says that he'll go check on the children. As he leaves the bedroom, he sees a tall man standing in the hallway and quickly turns around and runs back into the bedroom while the gang member gives chance and calls out to his buddies.
The homeowner enters the bedroom and heads for his nightstand grabs a full-size 9mm pistol and open fires on the gang member as he enters the room with a large knife in his hand. A couple of shots miss while a couple of others hit their mark and the guy goes down.
The wife grabs the phone and dials 911 as another gang member enters the bedroom but before he can fully come in the husband fires another couple of shots and he backs out of the bedroom. The wife asks if he got him and the husband replies that he doesn't know but he's going to check on the children.
As the homeowner leaves the bedroom, he is assaulted by a couple more gang members. More shots ring out (some miss while others hit their mark) and a second gang member goes down. At this point the slide on his pistol locks open. Seeing this, the third gang member says "Looks like you're empty" or "Looks like you used all of your 10 bullets" (I'm not sure which one gets the point across better).
Scene 3: A man comes in from his morning run and goes in to take a shower, as he's undressing (from the waist up), he removes a holstered gun that he was wearing concealed under his running outfit. After the shower, he puts on a suit and before leaving the house, he locks up his weapon.
Driving in his car, he drives past a sign which reads: "Gun Free Safe School Zone" and parks his car in the parking lot. Caption fades in saying: "Local, State & Federal laws prohibit firearms in or near schools for the safety of our children."
As caption fades, the deranged lunatic (from scene 1) drives past the same "Gun Free Safe School Zone" sign and chuckles to himself. He parks the car, enters the school with several guns in various places and starts shooting.
Scene 4: The man in the suit (the one who took a shower and locked up his gun before leaving the house) is in front of a classroom -- it is obvious that he is a teacher when shots are heard and everyone starts to panic. He instructs his students to remain in the classroom while he runs out to see what's going on.
He goes down a few hallways when he sees the gunman shooting at everyone. From where he's standing, the gunman doesn't see him and a voice is heard: "Damn. I have a clear shot. If only I had my gun!". Scene fades with caption: "Our 'common sense' gun laws -- who do they protect? Us and our children or the criminal?"
I know that tactically, there are some flaws with this. Such as in scene 2 where the husband left the bedroom a second time, he should have reloaded. But it's possible that the gun only came with one magazine and he wasn't really a shooter but just bought the weapon for self defense and never bothered to get another magazine and at that point in time, he was more concerned about his children than 'wasting time' putting more bullets in the magazine.
But then again, this wasn't meant to show 'perfect' situations but to illustrate how current gun laws do more harm to law-abiding citizens than to criminals. In this particular case, I was hoping to illustrate that the 10-round limit and the restricted areas (schools, national parks, etc.) creates more problems than it solves.
I had several more 'scenes' which address a few other areas (the waiting period, the background checks, shooting in self defense, etc.), but in the interest of space I only included these because I'm not sure how much interesrt they'll generate.
