In order to protect our members and TFL from possible litigation, all members must abide by the following new rules:

    1. Copying and pasting entire articles from another site to TFL is strictly prohibited. The same applies to articles from print or other media, and to posting photographs taken of copyrighted pages or other media.

    2. Copyright law provides for “fair use” of portions of a copyrighted work. You can copy no more than a SINGLE paragraph from the article to your post (3 or 4 sentences at most).

    3. You must provide a link to the article along with the name of website. For example: ww.xxx.yyy/zzz (The Lower Thumbsuck Daily News).

    4. You must provide, in your own words, a brief summary of the article AND your reasons for believing it will be of interest to TFL members. Failure to do so may result in the thread being closed or your post being deleted as a “cut and paste drive by.”

    5. Photographs and other images are also copyrighted. "Hotlinking" of images (so that it appears in your message) from other sites is also prohibited unless you own rights to the image. If you wish to share an image, provide a clickable link to it.

Posts that do not follow these new guidelines will be altered or deleted by staff. Members who continue to violate this policy may lose their posting privileges at TFL.

Thank you for your cooperation and your participation in TFL, the leading online forum for firearms enthusiasts.

Help! How do I post my handgun pix directly in the thread instead of attache them? Does anybody know ? Please help

When you are in the reply dialogue page there is an icon that opens the little box where you can insert the URL for your picture. The picture needs to be on a public web site. So your URL will be something like “http://www.mydomain.com” your image will be something like myimage.jpg that would be the file name. so the entire URL will be “http://www.mydomain.com/myimage.jpg” I see a lot of people using photobucket which frankly I can’t tell you anything about because I’ve never used it but presumably It’s the same sort of thing. For example I have a website called adlinda.com and I have some images on that web site so to see one of those images you just have to put the address complete with file name into a browser. http://www.adlinda.com/m1ascoped.jpg If you put the address inside image tags which is what the little utility does it will pull the image into your post from your web site. I would put the image tags in this post but I think the server would parse the tags and try to find the image and not actually show you what the tags look like.

Here is a sticky I made on my site - It will work on all the gun forums:

First, make sure that the photo is not too HUGE.

Then, upload it to this site:
http://www.imageshack.us/

There are other similiar sites, but you do not need an account at this site.

Then, copy the exact URL of the photo.

Next, come here and put the "" tag on the front

and "" tag on the rear of the picture link.

EXAMPLE:

Leave NO spaces between the link and the tags!

And, that's all there is too it :)
