I thought you guys might enjoy the "after" pics now that the wood has been refinished on my anniversary gift. Remember, about two months ago I bought that scratched up 1956 Browning? Well, here she is after a little work (wood only) courtesy of the wife on our anniversary:

VERY nice work!.. Those Superposeds really are some of the nicest shotguns out there for quality at a reasonable price, especially considering their age.

Enjoy it!

you have two really nice items there. a super superposed, and a super wife!. both are hard to find rare items. congrats on both counts!.

Right on all counts!

Haha. Thanks for the compliments....I do have to go shoot it a lot as I have not even tried the new chokes - ordered a modified and IC to go with the two full-chokes ones that came with it while it was being refinished so got to try them out. Clays and patterning targets won't be the same however - got to see some birds in the air!

That is one of the NICEST shotguns I have seen in a very long time. The wood is perfect. You did an outstanding job.

...Care to sell it?

No other O/U points as well in my hands than a Superposed. The Citori may be tougher but it doesn't have the "class" of a Superposed. They don't fit me nearly as well either. You have a pretty one too.

Bottom line....

1956 Belgian Superposed from "scratch and dent sale" - $600
Refinished wood and new recoil pad - $300
Two new chokes to compliment the original full-chokes ones - $90

Heirloom bird gun - under (barely) $1000!

Did this gun have screw in chokes? I thought Belgians had fixed chokes. If you got em in there, that is one sweet shotgun. Nice job on the stock.
