Thought I would see if I could get this cheap digital camera to take some better shots...

First is the right side

This is the new Wilson Ambi. It fits a dovetail on the hammer pin so you don't have to butcher your grips. Strong too...

Here is the driver's side.. paddle-style mag release, amby safety, beavertail and flat MSH (That's oil, not scratches around the beavertail. It really looks great in person, my camera just sucks.

And here is the Driver's side whole.

Nice looking gun. Very good looking. But that gigantic mag release is a blight.

Think if Catherine Zeta Jones with a Unibrow.

Works well for IPSC.... don't have to change grip at all to drop a mag. Reloads on the run have never been easier.

That's cool. If it works for you - that is all that matters.
What do you plan on doing next with it? Magwell, checkering?

I am considering a magwell.. but I think I am going to go for the $25 dollar, hook udner the handgrip cheapy and see if it really helps. Since this is, and will remain, a carry gun, i don't want one of these permanatly affixed black-hole type magwels you see on race guns.

If it turns out I like the magwell, I'll have one welded and fit.

My next step is a new hammer/trigger/sear combo.

Nice....

Hmm... If you don't mind me asking, what does one like that run (before having it fit, if you didn't do that part yourself.) ?

Another question... I realize that top competitors use every trick available to shave hundreths of a second from their time.... but for the average shooter ( I will probably never hit GM) how much is utility and how much is futility?

I have a smooth reload and don't tend to fumble. Will an oversized magwell really increase my performance enough to warrant the cost? (Not to mention adding that much more to my carry pistol)
