Here a few pics of the revolver I bought from my brother-in-law. You might remember a thread I started a while back asking about it. I finally went for it.

I think that the Rossi's of that style were pretty neat guns. I LOVE my Model 720 .44 Spl., no matter how much I've been ridiculed in the past about it. It's accurate, reliable and easy to carry. I've considered getting a 971 a time or two but have always passed on it. Those pics began to stir those feelings again. Good luck with your new toy.

My wife has a Rossi stainless steel subnose, square
butt .38 Special that she dearly loves. I don't think
she would swap it for a NIB S&W, Colt, or Ruger!
It was her own choosing, so she won't depart with
it. To my knowledge, the little gun has been 100%
reliable.

Ive loved the 971 for as long as Ive known of Rossi. My favorite is the snubbie version with the porting...the V" model with the extended barrel. Very nice guns. I found one a little while ago, but the price was more than they sold for new a long time ago....oh well.
Hope you enjoy your gun. Shoot well

I have a Rossi 462 (stainless, 2" barrel, .357mag, 6 shot) that I think is great. Like it better than my Smith model 60.

think i mentioned on the previous thread that the woman and i have a snubby and a 6" 971. not sure who owns which, she claims everything.

anyway, my gunsmith slicked up the guts in them and they shoot as good as any Smith. gunsmith said could do a better job on a Rossi than a Taurus. different innards it seems.

you have a fine firearm IMO.

971comp

Hey Eric where did you find a pick of my gun?. I asked about 971 comp and was told by many that rossi was junk and to avoid them, thank goodness i didn't listen as it's been perfect and the only gun my wife could shoot, (until i got the CZ75b). Some even went so far as to say the ranges would not let them shoot there,oh well.

Very high up on my wish list is a Rossi 988 Cyclops with the 8" barrel. I have a M88 that keeps The Wife company and I wouldn't trade it for anything (like she'd let me anyway)
