Pics of KelTec P-11

I am planning on buying a KelTec P-11 soon and I am debating on the finish to purchase. I would love to see (together if possible) all three finishes (factory) so I can determine which one LOOKS the best.

ALSO...I would love to get you opinion on th epros/cons of each finish. The three that I am aware of are: Blue, Parkerized, stainless. Please advise and include any pics of them that you might have. Hopefully I will find someone who has ALL three of them and can do the picture thing for me. Thank you!

Here are two pics I found online. The only "stainless" finish is hard chrome. The parkerized and blued look identical in pictures, although the blue is a little more glossy and the the parkerized looks a bit more dull than the other. Good luck.

BTW. I have owned a blued P32 and now both my P32 and P11 are hard chrome. I carry these frequently and don't bother to take much care of them (other than standard cleaning and lubricating). Most people choose hard chrome because of the corrosion protection you get and the durability of the finish. I don't see a reason to spend more money on parkerized over blue, since the corrosion resistance difference is minimal (according to people I have talked to who own both). Good luck.

I have four Kel-tec pistols. They were all purchased with blued slides, but sent to Kel-tec for the hard chrome upgrade. I like the look and corrosion resistance of the chrome finish. As I recall, the blue looked fine, but was not a high-polish showy blue. The hard chrome looks kind of like brushed stainless. I don't know if I've seen the parkerized. I think the hard chrome is actually applied over a parkerized finish (2 for the price of 1 :).

Yes, just one magazine. You can order some extras from KT if you can't find any thru your local shop.

http://www.kel-tec.com

You have to call, can't order on-line. Here are a couple of sites with good info. if you haven't seen them already.

BTW, if you can't find a chrome P-11, the previously mentioned hard chrome upgrade is just $20. Just send them your blue slide, barrel & assembly pin and they will REPLACE these parts with chrome. Since they pay return shipping, this is a good time to order spare parts/accessories.

Thanks, alamo. Now I have to find a P11 around here! I've looked at those sites, and decided I want to get a new one and do the Fluff & Buff. It looks like fun....

It is fun, I really didn't know much about guns & how they worked until I started doing the F&B on my KTs. I'm certainly no expert now but know a lot more than I did.

I just got my P11 back from kel-tec today after getting the hard chrome slide and parkerized barrel upgrade. I also had them install nightsights and a metal guide rod. It almost looks like a real gun now ;).

Hi,

I have two stainless (no longer offered) P-11s (and two P-32s), one is below s/n 9000, and the other is above s/n 38,000. They are both reliable (even without the KTOG fluff and buff), accurate and easy to carry and conceal.

I have the factory trigger shoe on both, plus a steel guide rod, the factory installed PT night sights (proven to be quite durable for the past couple of years), and the belt clip on the carry piece.

For more info, try the message board at: http://www.ktog.org
Good luck.

The nightsights look delicate in the photo. Do you think they are?
Hard to say after carrying it around for just a few hours, but I think they will last. They are very bright, and I'm very pleased :). Those stock sights were awful.

It's just the Pachmayr Slip-on. I bought it because I got tired of waiting for my local shop to get the Hogue Jr. in. Finally got the Hogue, but was used to the Pachmeyr and liked the way it felt better, it's not quite as thick and I have stubby fingers. If I remember correctly, I paid $6.95 for it. Between it, the mag extension, and the 22# recoil springs, she acts like a kitten even with +P+ ammo.
