Picked up the Ithaca 37 today.Think this was a good deal?

Pictures are taken with my camera phone, but I think the quality is good enough.
Here's my brother's Ithaca 37 Featherlight next to my Wingmaster. The Monte Carlo stock in the middle is for my Wingmaster.

I'd post more, but the limit is 3.

The Ithaca, along with a Hogue recoil pad (even though it doesn't fit perfectly) cost me about $320 out the door. How did I do?

These days,I do not know the market value of your shotgun.
I will tell you that,of the pumps I have known,it is my favorite.
And,as a matter of fact,until I played with a Bennelli,it was my favorite non-double.
Simple,reliable,well made.If it fits you,and you can hit with it....
+or - $100??? so what?

That price seems fair, at least in my area. Ithacas go from $300 to 600 depending on model and condition.
 
I'd say that's a good deal. It's hard to see the true overall condition...it may be a great deal. The 37s are right up there with the very best pump guns ever made.
 
Around here, not a steal but not a ripoff either. About run of the mill. Seems like it's in nice shape, any big brand name pumpgun on the used rack around here in good shape is going to have a $300 ask, or thereabouts.

What gauge is it?

Also the early guns will fire when the breachblock go's into lockup if the trigger is held back. You did well a very nice addition.
 
just bought a 16 today to ad to the 2 twelves. 300 is what i paid. seems to be the going rate around here for a 37. if you couldnt tell im slowly ading to my 37 collection. Its not often i let a 37 slip through my fingers, so yes i think its a good price. i wouldve paid it in a heartbeat.
 
Once you take the 16 out in the field, I think the 12's will be collecting dust in the safe. There's nothing like the mod. 37 in 16 gauge, great handling shotgun.
 
it is quite a bit lighter than both the twelves. however the barrel is ALOT longer. most of my deer hunting is brush busting madness. so im sure the lighter more petite shotgun will most definately have its uses, but im sure ill be reachin for a 12 to go rompin around in the swamp with. The other problem with the 16 is its a deerslayer and deerslayer only. made before the barrels were interchangeable :( but thats ok. ill still love it and ill try not to neglect my trusty short quick pointing twelves either.
