I've gotten tired of searching for ammo for my other
guns so I picked up a old sears 30-30 last week.
The stores all seem to have ammo for it and it's still cheap
Enough to shoot regularly.
I paid $200 for it and would estimate it to be in 95% condition.
How did I do and how good or bad is the sears Winchester?
By the way I shot it Sunday and it Holds 3" from a kneeling
At 50 yards with 170 grain accubonds.

Its a 94. If it has a screw in the lever link its a pre 64 but won't bring what a non sears will.

It's a pre 64. From what I was told. I'll get picks tonight.
I've gotta run the #'s to find the year. If I can find a place that
Has the dating for a sears.

This is just the kind of thing that makes gun shopping so much fun. I think you got a buy there and will look forward to seeing more pics. I bet you will find it will do better than 3" at fifty.

AFAIK the only difference is the furniture. Less expensive wood on the Sears, more expensive on the Winchester.

I think Beech on the Sears but don't quote me on that.
