Picatinny/Weaver Base for Winchester 70 Long Action

I am looking for either a picatinny rail or weaver rail for a winchester model 70 long action, .338 win mag classic stainless boss.

needs to be steel, and be a quality product. i was thinking a warne. what other options are out there?

does the badger have alignment pin holes in them? ones that go into the receiver and you drive it in with a hammer and punch? if it does i might want to get that. but if i'm paying 150 bucks there better be reason

i will second the warne bases in particular the steel maxima one piece base. i use this base on every bolt rifle i own from tikka's to weatherby vanguards and i use burris signature zee rings also. this is a great combo imho.
good luck,
eddie

lol that's dope. i just got my burris signature zee rings in the mail a few days ago! i still need to get the offset insert kit though.

I use the two piece weaver bases on my model 70s. Lots of people say they are not as accurate but I haven't found that to be the case.

You pretty much have to use them on target rifles, because you will find yourself firing the same rifle in the Any Rifle, any Sight and the Any rifle Iron sight matches.

My most accurate Model 70 is a AMU 308 Target rifle I got from the CMP auction site.

I use it in Across the Course HP Matches, it has the built in stripper strip guides which would be rather hard to use with the one piece mounts.

Anyway I have found I loose any accuracy using the two piece mounts.

it had a 2 piece base when i first got it. it needed to be mounted with only 3 screws and one of them was backwards because it would not mount any other way
