Pic of Kahr next to a Kel-tec?

I know some of y'all probably own this combination of pistols, but I'm curious and it might be a long shot. Does anybody have pic of a Kahr MK9 or MK40 next to a Kel-Tec P11 or P32 for size comparison? I'm doing that "gee I think I might buy" thing that we all go through and wanna see a comparison. Thanks!

I don't hav a pic for you but there is no comparison in quality between the MK series and the Kel Tec's. Kahr's are heirloom quality. They are heavier than Kel Tec because the MK series are all steel. Looking at overall size on specs, they are similar.

Kel Tec is junk in comparison IMHO.

Russ is correct - the Kahr is clearly the way to go if you are looking for an heirloom. :) On the other hand, if you want a lighter pistol that is about the same size and holds several additional rounds of ammo, you should checkout the Kel-Tec. I hardly think the Kel-Tec is "junk" - my P11 9mm is reliable and reasonably accurate and I've shot it quite a lot with a variety of ammo. I sent mine in for the hard chrome upgrade ($20 from Kel-Tec) and am very happy with it. I even like the ergonomics and look of the pistol. If I could change anything, it would be to make it a traditional double action - or at least lighten the trigger pull a little. But I suppose the long heavy trigger makes it a little safer to carry, and I'm pretty used to it now.

With a Glock thrown in as a bonus:)

DougB...don't let the ANTI GUN PEOPLE fool you into believing that a long heavy trigger is safer than a short crisp one. There is NOTHING safe about a gun that you can't shoot accurately because the trigger pull is so heavy.

Uh...could you try posting those pics again? I can only see an "x" in a small box on my pc - could be a prob on my end for all I know.

Thanks!

Webshots.

Right-click on the red box, click on properties, then highlight and copy the URL listed under address.

Paste that into a new window. Should come up as well as appear in your TFL window the next time you refresh the screen.

Rammer,
I can add a few more pics for you. Here is my P32 next to my MK40. My digital camera is CRAP, but it gives you an idea.

Goet,

What's up w/ Webshots not working w/o going through all these extra steps? They used to work great for posting images and required none of these steps:mad:

Sundance,

I would also prefer a somewhat shorter, lighter trigger on the Kel-Tec, but I do think that a longer, heavier trigger does offer an added margin of safety against accidental discharge - especially on a pistol that might be carried unholstered in a pocket (thought I realize that that's not an ideal carry method). If having a longer, heavier trigger didn't add to safety, everyone would carry cocked single actions wilth no safety (the shortest, lightest, trigger possible). The trick is finding the "happy medium" that is a good compromise between safety and accuracy. I don't generally like DAO pistols because of the trigger, prefering traditonal double action (so I can cock it to maximize accuracy when I have time). I find the Glock trigger a little too short and easy for my taste (safety concern), but that's just me.

By the way, are you from Utah (your TFL name makes me wonder)?

Doug

No, I'm not from Utah, (Tennessee actually) but I'd like to be...especially if I owned Robert Redford's chunk of land there. Did you know that a sizeable portion of Jeremiah Johnson was filmed on his land? Oh well, a little off the point for TFL.

(Totally off topic)

Sundance,

Yes, I rememer that Jerimiah Johnson was filmed there (its one of my favorite movies). I live in California, but I have a lot of family in Utah and I lived there for a few years (BYU graduate). I wish we had their gun laws (or lack thereof). We spend a week or two there every year visiting my mom and I always enjoy the shooting and fishing.
