In 1st Freedom, they have a full page ad for a Phoenix .22 semi, with two barrels, cleaning kit, in a lockbox - for under $200. Is this a good buy ?

I have actually heard some good things about it given the price (they used to be $99 for the basic pistol and about $35 for the additional longer "target" barrel. $200 seems a little steep. For that much you should get a Ruger MKII new or used it will be a much better gun. Like I said, for $99 I heard good things, but not good enough to warrant spending $200, too many other options, like another Mak, a FEG Hi-Power, old .22 rifles. Those are my choices.

Frame showed wear with less than 50 rounds. If for defensive use, get a P-32. (My opinion). For camp use, get a used Ruger Single-six.

I have an HP-22 and I like it as I stated in previous posts. I have had good luck with mine considering the price I paid. I do think 200 bucks is a little steep.
I bought a Sigma .380 to replace the HP-22 as a carry gun when they first came out also, and I had great luck with it.
Most people didn't like the Sigma, but it was perfect for my situation, and extremely reliable.
