I own a model 47 9" barrel.
Can I get some details on the side cover?
I don't think it is part of the frame.
If it is many users are in harms way.
Thank You

I presume you mean a Medusa Model 47. If so, the sideplate is like the one on an S&W K frame; it is not part of the frame but is held on by screws. (In fact, the gun is basically a K-frame revolver; most of the changes are in the cylinder.)

Now how could the sideplate being or not being part of the frame put users in harm's way?

I have no idea what you're talking about at all. Please clarify your post and use complete sentences. Thank you.

Welcome to The Firing Line!

From what I've read, Phillips and Rodgers made a fine handgun. jwphillips2 is a member here and founder of the company. If you PM him he may be along to let you know more about the gun.

I wish I'd had the money for one when they were in business.

Here's a thread where the Model 47 was discussed last year.

I special ordered one when they came out. Love it. Can't find paper work. It has a 6" bbl. Special finish. How can i find out what it is. It is not chrome.

Wish smith or ruger would make a similar gun, i can imagine peoples faces at the range when you load 6 types of ammo into one.:)

The M47 has been on my wish list for sometime. Anyone know where I can find one? I keep checking GunBroker and GunsAmerica without luck.

Wanted Medusa 47 have cash!
