City Solicitor Kenneth I. Trujillo says he believes his stable of
attorneys should do more than defend Philadelphia from lawsuits. "When
I took this [job] on, I thought: What a great thing for the city if we
can take on more entrepreneurial cases for the city and find money for
the city," said Trujillo, appointed to his $140,000-a-year post by Mayor
Street in January. Trujillo is forming a team that will sue and, he
hopes, reap financial wins for the city. He said he hoped the city's
pending lawsuit against gun manufacturers would prove to be just the
beginning.

Gun Control: The proposition that a woman found dead in an alley, raped and strangled with her own panty hose, is more acceptable than allowing that same woman to defend herself with a firearm.

Guns, tobacco, lead paint manufacturers...

Pretty soon there will be a suit against fast food restaurants to recover the costs of litter cleanup.

Entrepeneurial ????!!!!!!??????

Yeah, let's also have some entrepeneurial cops, writing bogus tickets and hoping some fools will pay them...

entrepeneurial IRS agents collecting extra taxes...

entrepeneurial firefighters setting gov't buildings ablaze to collect insurance...

Public service as a profit producing commercial enterprise. Great.

There are going to be two consiquences of these idiots:

1) Ever single piece of product will be covered from head-2-toe with warning stickers. Have any of you seen the new Porsche Boxters? Big Ugly Warning stickers all over the dash board; on a $60,000.00 car!!!! Pretty soon, we'll have a warning label on baseballs (instead of signatures), we'll need to have people sign a waiver before they pull up to the drive-thru window at Krispy-Kreme Donuts.

2) There will be a dramatic reduction of the use of cutting edge technology, resulting in a stagnation of all aspects of life. If this Barbra Streisand (SP?) keeps up, our economy is headed for a masive crash.

I can't believe that we need to sue someone over these issues... I simply can't fathom this.

~USP

"[Even if there would be] few tears shed if and when the Second Amendment is held to guarantee nothing more than the state National Guard, this would simply show that the Founders were right when they feared that some future generation might wish to abandon liberties that they considered essential, and so sought to protect those liberties in a Bill of Rights. We may tolerate the abridgement of property rights and the elimination of a right to bear arms; but we should not pretend that these are not reductions of rights." -- Justice Scalia 1998
