Pheonix Arms .22 Good or POS?

I want a little kit gun in .22. Suitable for plinking while backpacking and or low profile pocket carry. Anyone have experience w/ the Pheonix Arms pistol advertised lately. I want an auto loader not a revolver(already have ruger single six). Is the gun accurate, realiable and is the quick take down feature compromising the longevity of the gun? The pistol "LOOKS" perfect for my need but if it is a POS what would a good alternative be in a similar size and weight gun. Thanks -ddt

Have friend with one.I have shot it and it shoot well for what it is.He says first brick (500 rds) went through the gun with out a jam.The only problem he has had is with the top safty coming loose.

Someone gave me a Phoenix arms .25acp- changed the grips only (took the pearl ones off and put on black).

Let me say that this gun "never" jams- my .22 Beretta Bobcat jams constantly.

I don't know if I would stake my well being on it, but for $70-$80 bucks that they cost- very fun to shoot.

I have one, and I really like it. It never fails to fire when I use Stingers. It was my first firearm and I bought it when they first came out. Great service, if you should need, and I found it to be a great value. I paid 100 bucks for mine, then I bought the target barrel. I am pleased!

My Pheonix Arms 22 has over 600 rounds through it and still fires great. Mine loves Stingers Just like "Tatters", And it never miss fires. I keep it loaded with 10 rounds of Stingers. Just in case. Its a great camping gun, for plunking and protection.

Well, I have one too. I keep it loaded with Stingers and it has never missed a beat. It's a cheap little fun pistol for plinking.

Isn't the Phoenix Arms .22 the one that has half a dozen interlocking "safeties"? I looked at one at a gun store and was immediately annoyed by the need to insert a magazine and flip a lever just to retract the slide.

Yes, the Phoenix has what I believe is an unnessary number of safeties (too many lawyers on staff). You need to have an extra magazine or two (one of which is empty) just to safely handle the pistol. I like the little pistol though. I carry mine off safety with the hammer block in the fire position with an empty chamber. All you have to do is rack the slide and start shooting. And shoot it will. I've had mine about a year and I'm amazed that such an inexpensive pistol is as reliable and accurate as this one is. The only thing I really dislike is that the trigger is slow to reset when rapid firing. regards, birdman

The bad thing about this pistol, is it is too good to be true. These are just the types of handguns the antis don't want around 'cause they are too inexpensive. They equate "inexpensive" with "junk" and "dangerous" and "Saturday Night Special"

On the other hand, this is just the kind of pistol that can get a new gun owner to enjoy the sport, or at least try shooting. That is why I bought mine in the first place. It was my first gun. Inexpensive, safe, pleasing to look at, reliable and just plain fun!
(Or is that my wife?)
