Peters Stahl conversions?

I remember seeing something about these slides for 1911. Its a conversion for 1911's that uses a Sig style lock-up with cammed barrel in lieu of the link and has dual claw extractors. This was also offered in 10mm.

Are they still available?

Not that I know. I used to have Springfield Omega.
This is refular Springfield frame with Peter Stahl slide and barel. It does use "linkless lock" a la Sig.
It does have double claw extractors (not that it improoves reliability, notice "I used to have" in the first line).
It was suppose to be "multicalibre" pistol, you only need to swap the barrel in order to swich between 10mm, 45ACP and 38 Super. The rifling is octagonal.
The gun is very acurate, but not very reliable and its recoil spring retention assembly is quite fragial.
Good chance of sending slide downrange when it fails.
These guns were expenssive when they were made (800-900 in the early 90's). There are still around and good example can be picked up for ~$500.
