Permanent scope mount

You have several choices.
#1 is to use the original style pads and mount, these need an experienced gunsmith to install correctly so the scope is collimated to the bore.

#2 any of the drill and tap mounts on the market. The drill and tap operation well upset some collectors and reduce re-sale value of the rifle.

#3 is the use a no-drill scope mount. There are several on the market but I have had best results with the SK brand. It attaches at the backsight ears and uses a wedge under the charging bridge. There is a British version of the SK made in steel that is reported to be a better mount and is about 3X the cost.

Here's a SK on a No4 MkI, 1949 Faz.
