Performance Center Shield- anyone have one?

I'm considering purchasing The S&W Performance Center Ported M&P 9 Shield. It comes with an upgraded trigger and green Hi-viz front and red rear fiber optic sights. and, of course, it's ported. Anyone have one that is willing to render an opinion? I know many people that have the standard Shield, but I have not seen one of these babies. My LGS called and they've got one coming on Monday. If I make it through the weekend, I'm going for it...

I have owned a standard shield.

I cerakoted a customers shield pro, and test fired afterwards.

The differences were noticeable. Lighter trigger, more visible sights, less recoil, louder, more flash at the muzzle.

I am not of the opinion that the differences were significant enough for me to spend more money on it than a standard. That's a very subjective opinion.

If its intended use is a CCW, some are of the opinion that a ported barrel is a negative aspect due to it "ruining your night vision". I'm no super secret squirrel operator, so I don't think its something for me to take into consideration. A lot more things affect my split times than my barrel being ported. You may have already mastered those things. I'd prefer the additional velocity out of an already short barrel.

Sights can be changed out. I prefer tritium over fiber optic sights for a carry gun; easier for me to see in low light. TFX's are my personal favorite. Sight choices are about as subjective as it can get in regards to firearms.

The trigger felt a little lighter, but I didn't gauge it. It wasn't anything to write home about.

It does look really cool, and is unique. I've bought things for less reason than that.

Overall, I think they made a game gun out of a solid carry gun instead of making a better carry gun. I think its a great gun, and would be confident in carrying it for defensive use.

I'm sorry I couldn't give you a less subjective opinion.

Double post. I apologize. My internet connection consists of a Walmart phone in the middle of a soybean field.
