The 2 coolest MLs going, in my book, are the "Katahdin" which is a T/C Encore, and the Savage 10ML. I like the short handy length (and the sights) of the T/C, but the strength and nice stock availability of the Savage (whether or not you shoot smokeless, it's nice to know that you action is strong enough to do so, in the event of extra-heavy BP charges). So the question is, what about a barrel cutoff & re-crown of the 10MLBSS-II, to 20"? If I did that, where would I find the correct length rod for it? Can't just cut it off because of the threading for the handle....

Ideas? BTW, smokeless powder MLs are legal in my state for deer hunting, and the less fouling & cleaning appeals to me.
