Pepper spray in NJ/Manhattan?

Heading up to visit friends. Obviously can't take the CZ, how about pepper spray?

You have to buy pepper spray through a liscensed dealer in NY. But other than that, I'm not sure about the laws on bringing your own from out of state. My guess is it would be ok, but you might want to check http://www.packing.org and see if they have any links on their NY page about weapon laws.

NO. You have to be a NY state resident, a city resident and have taken a certification class. Out of state, no certification and not legal to possess.
