For those who don't know, Pennsylvania allows permitless open carry (except in Philadelphia). However, PA state law also provides that permitless open carry is NOT allowed during states of emergency ... which is often when you might most need to carry a gun.
This year, the PA legislature seems poised to fix that, and (surprisingly) it's a bi-partisan move. A bill to remove the firearms restriction from enaction during emergency orders has now passed the house and is up for consideration by the state senate. If you live in Pennsylvania, now would be a good time to contact your state senators.
