Pearce glock grips

Had one mag with a pearce extension only on it. Replaced that with a +2 extension very easily.
On my factory stock glock mag I cannot get the base plate to come off. I push in the button and try to slide it and even push it against the edge of a desk, but no dice.
Am I doing something wrong? DO I need to spend some time at the gym? Are these glued?

Beware of grip extensions on subcompact Glocks. The extension will transfer recoil force and wiggle causing abrasion on the magazine release. Once some wear has taken place on the mag release, the mag will sit just slightly too low and your firearm will start jamming regularly.

Just something to know/keep an eye on. The part (slide release) is super cheap and pretty easy to replace, but IMO should be watched if the firearm is counted on for SD/LE purposes.

I assume this is due to how extremely tight the mag fits in with 12 in the mag. I believe I will just carry it 11+1. Will that alleviate the problem?
