the 340 w/ Matte Stainless/ Grey finish is the same exact gun but the model number isnt listed as a PD. the models are for the scandium .357's are "340, 340PD, and 340PD-HiViz". so i dont feel that it stands for Personal Defence. I think it has to do with the black finish. look at the 340, 360, and the 386 all are matte stainless and the 340PD, 360PD, 386PD, are black.
