Pcc loads vs handgun

My specific question;
I have a Keltec Sub 2K, 2nd gen.
Is there any difference for loading a Pistol Caliber Carbine?
My concern is the weight of the bolt group and buffer spring.
It runs great with factory ammo.
I would assume that light loads for the pistol would be a bit more difficult for the longer carbine???

They are both designed to work with the same operating pressures...

Operating pressure is not relevant. Recoil force is. They aren't the same thing.

Because its recoil operated (instead of gas, like an AR15), gas pressures and dwell time are not relevant. Combine that with the longer barrel and you can play with different powder burn rates to gain some FPS.

How much gain while still maintaining a safe load...i dont know.

PCC’s always seemed to me the place for the +p and +p+ ammo. The added recoil is better handled by the carbine.

And a "safe load" is determined by the SAAMI max pressure...
