Pawnshop Remington 1100

I took a look at a Remington 1100 12 gauge today with a fixed full choke. No choke tubes or threads for them. It was manufactured September 1979. I saw 2 3/4 shells stamped on it. The barrel looks scratched up some and there is some rusting here and there.

They are asking $700

When I went in there last week and it was not there. The clerk said they put it out in August and the reason I might not have seen it is because someone may have had it on layaway and never paid it off. So they put it back out this week.

You think I can wait them out and see how far it drops? If you guys were in the market for one what price range would you take one like this at?

way to much for 1100 in that condition. keep looking you should be able to find a good used 1100 for 350-400 range, that's what they go for around here. eastbank.

I know pawn shops have a lot of flexibility as towards price, but that's outrageous. It's possible that he paid too much and that you will always be too far apart on price.

Hit the gun shows. The Rem 1100 is common enough that you should see at least a couple.

Yeah I figured that they may have got in on that gun a little deep and they're seeing if they can make up the difference.

It's not in awful condition. I could get it real prettied up in an hour. But right now they will not go beyond a $50 cut.

If what the pawnshop guy says is true someone put that thing on layaway at that $700 price. If that's the case I'm sure I can forget waiting for it to drop $300-$400. Someone will probably wind up getting for $500-$600. the place is a block away from my house so I'm gonna keep swinging in to see what happens.

I just like look and feel those older Remington's. I have a 1963 870 Wingmaster in 16 gauge but I really want one of those autos. I love the wood and the glossy steel look. My 16 though is difficult when it comes to Turkey. So I want one more in an auto 12.

The pawnshop also has a Browning Auto 5 they got tagged for $1000. I haven't looked at it though cause that is way out of my price range.

I think I would check around at other pawnshops. The 1100 is a good gun but the one you described sounds more like a $400-$500 gun. If it has still got your eye maybe drop five one hundred dollar bills on the counter and see if that moves him off high center.
