Patterns From Shorter Barrels

Am thinking of going from a 26" barrel to a 21" barrel on my MI Super 90 to keep from getting hung up on every low hanging branch in the woods. Have a Tru-Glow Turkey Choke which adds another 1 1/4". Will this combinaton still deliver a tight pattern at 40 yds? The barrel is almost $300 so it would be an expesive experiment if it dosn't work. Comments would be welcomed.
 
Inside dimensions, choke(same thing)and load determine patterns, not length,except....

Ever note a brighter muzzle flash when shooting in low light from one load? Some powders burn completely in a certain bbl length, some don't. If your bbl's of legal length or more, this is not very important. Velocity is a factor with patterns, good or bad. I doubt there's much of a difference in velocity between 21 and 26", so patterns should not be affected. POI may be affected, so a little pattern testing would be in order.
 
VangComp can provide a special barrel for the Bennelli that will do more than you could ever imagine possible. Barrel provided by a company in Tucson and is thick enough for the VangComp process.
